Olive island
The Island of Treasure
2021
The Challenge
The Maksimović family found their treasure on the island of Šolta — ancient olive groves and generations of knowledge in producing premium, organic olive oil. Based in Prague, the client grows olives in Croatia and sells primarily on the Czech market, where the oil is positioned in the premium price segment. They had an exceptional product, but the packaging failed to convey that story or the sense of exclusivity the oil deserved. The task was to create packaging that would connect the family's personal story with the quality of what's inside the bottle.

Concept & Solution
When you have a story about an island and hidden treasure, the solution almost suggests itself — but only if you commit to it fully. We designed an olive-green bottle anchored by a treasure map: a graphic in the style of old nautical charts and mythical maps, turning each bottle into a small artefact with a story to tell.
Exclusivity is underlined through details that can be felt: every bottle carries a hand-written serial number — a mark that this is not something off a production line, but something made with intention. Alongside the bottle, we designed luxury cardboard tubes with gold foil printing and refined paper bags that complete the experience from the moment of purchase. Beyond packaging, we also worked on promotional materials and vehicle wrapping. We also managed the full print production for the client — bottles, cardboard tubes, luxury bags, and all accompanying promotional materials.

The Result
Olive Island is no longer purchased simply as a premium olive oil — it has become one of the most sought-after corporate gifts on the Czech market. The sense of exclusivity that was previously missing is now present in every detail.
The quality of both the product and the design has been recognised internationally: the oil has won silver medals for quality at competitions in London and Dubai, while the packaging design was awarded both a silver and a platinum medal. The project was also featured in Czech Forbes — proof that great design can be a story in its own right.
